New to Therapy?
Goodness of fit is a term used in psychology and is a very real thing which consists of "the vibe", the approach, and the expertise of a therapist. Here is how you can expect me to show up in sessions:
The Vibe (The Relationship): I offer a non-judgemental environment that will make you feel safe, heard, and respected. The mutually real human experience is what fuels my passion for therapy.
The Approach (The Method): Every therapist has a different style. Some are quiet and focus on your past; others are active, giving you homework and skills to use right now. I aim to match how you like to learn and grow while offering both the space to process as well as foster new coping skills. I use humor and self-disclosure when applicable and clinically appropriate.
The Expertise (The Specialty): If you want to work on a specific issue—like anxiety, trauma, or relationship struggles—you want a therapist who has the right tools and experience for that exact problem. I specialize in relational issues, trauma/ptsd, and the treatment of eating disorders.
